Student Portal
Brunel University
“I worked with Darlene on a student facing portal for a large University. The University had specific requirements and the platform that it was based on was also a very specific platform. Darlene took all of the needs of the University into consideration and produced a dynamic and engaging portal that would enable students to self help more effectively, whilst keeping it pleasant to view.”

Olly Phillips
Director at Folkseed
Working with Folkseed, a public sector sales start-up, I helped to redesign Brunel University's student portal. As the sole UX designer, I worked directly with the director of Folkseed and their development team on this project.
The aim was to make their student portal simpler and more user-friendly. We wanted to facilitate independent query resolution for students, ensuring they could readily find answers with minimal assistance - reducing friction for the users and cost for the university.
I worked closely with both the founder of Folkseed and the client to ensure the design met their specific requirements. While there are certain elements I might have approached differently (such as opting for a simpler background to enhance readability), the final design was completed in line with the client’s vision and standards.
